Alexandre Bettamio is Chair of Global Corporate & Investment Banking at BofA Securities, the institutional broker dealer business of Bank of America. In this leadership role, he is responsible for delivering best-in-class service to clients and deepening key relationships across the globe. He served as co-head of Global Investment Banking since 2023 and led the strategy and day-to-day operations of the firm’s Global Investment Banking business, including leading over 2,600 bankers globally. Mr. Bettamio is a member of Bank of America’s Management Committee and the Executive Committee of the Global Corporate & Investment Bank.
Previously, he served as President of Latin America for Bank of America and led the firm’s efforts across the region. Under his leadership, the firm received several awards for excellence in delivering for clients by some of the top global financial outlets covering Latin America. Bettamio joined the bank as head of Investment Banking for Brazil in 2008, and in that same year was named President of Bank of America Brazil.
Prior to joining the bank, he served in various leadership capacities at leading financial institutions, including co-head of UBS Pactual’s Investment Banking unit, as well as Salomon Brothers and Citibank in Brazil. He began his career in the international tax department of Price Waterhouse in San Francisco and São Paulo.
With over 30 years of wide-ranging experience covering financial markets, Bettamio has led numerous landmark IPO transactions and debt issuances in international markets and has also advised on several notable M&A transactions and privatization processes.
Bettamio served as President & Chairman of the Board of the Brazilian-American Chamber of Commerce from 2017 to 2019 and serves as a counselor to several philanthropic foundations.
He received a law degree from Mackenzie University in Brazil and is a member of the Brazilian Bar Association.
